26 Feb 2010: Ben joins the Beta Team
BETA’s latest addition to the team has travelled a long way to get to Doncaster but, as a former fitness professional, exercise is second nature to him.
Principal Consultant Ben Micó joined the company in September 2009, bringing with him 12 years management experience in commercial, sport, leisure, health and fitness industries.
He originally came to the UK from Sydney, Australia to Mount St Mary’s College just outside Sheffield, where he was instrumental in establishing a sports and leisure club. He returned to Australia two years later to manage a fitness club at the Hotel Intercontinental, in Sydney. But, it seemed the UK was calling, and soon he was back again at the invitation of the college which had plans to expand its sports facilities and needed the expertise and drive of the man who started it all.
Six years later he was appointed commercial manager at the Northern Racing College where he came into contact with Beta Technology – and the rest is history.
Ben now works closely with Jayne Evans on business development, with particular responsibility for Beta’s involvement in this year’s iFestival. He is also part of the team working on an international Nutrimenthe project meeting to be held in York and is involved in projects emanating from the new London office.
“My role is not only to liaise with and facilitate networking opportunities for existing clients but also to generate new business,” said Ben. “A personalised customer service is very important and that is something I have always brought to my previous roles.”
